Granite memorials for Clareview families
We are about 25 minutes north-east, which puts every cemetery serving Clareview inside the area we deliver and install to. Families here are usually buying for Beechmount Cemetery, Northern Lights and St. Michael's Cemetery, and each of those grounds has its own rules about memorial size, thickness and whether an upright is allowed at all. Call the shop
Beechmount's older sections allow uprights and contain a lot of pre-war marble that is now weathering badly. If a family stone there has gone illegible, cleaning and recutting is often possible and costs a fraction of replacing it.
Everything we make is cut and lettered on 181 Street in west Edmonton — solid granite, sandblasted by hand, never ordered in finished and resold. You are welcome to come and see the stone at full size before it goes out to Clareview, and a good number of Clareview families do exactly that. Ask for a quote
If you do not yet know what your section allows, that is the normal starting point and not a problem. Tell us the cemetery and the plot number and we will find out, in writing, before you make a single decision about granite or wording. There is no charge for that and no obligation attached to it. Why us
Why Clareview families work with us
We know the Clareview cemeteries
We have set memorials at Beechmount Cemetery, Northern Lights and St. Michael's Cemetery and we know what each one accepts. Before we quote you anything we confirm your section's size, thickness and finish rules in writing with the cemetery.
Clear, itemised pricing
The memorial price covers the granite, the engraving and two designs, with any amount of front lettering in any language. Delivery and installation to Clareview are quoted separately and stated up front, alongside the cemetery's own permit fee — nothing appears at the end that was not on the quote.
A proof before anything is cut
You see a scaled drawing of the finished memorial and check every name, date and word on it. Proofs are free, we redraw as many times as needed, and nothing goes to the saw until you approve it.
The cemetery paperwork is ours
Permit applications, size approvals and foundation scheduling are handled by us. You should not have to learn how a cemetery permit works while you are grieving.
Locally
What Clareview families usually choose
Clareview families are often dealing with an existing stone rather than ordering a new one. Beechmount's older sections hold a great deal of pre-war marble that has weathered to the point of being unreadable, and in most cases cleaning and recutting the lettering costs a fraction of replacement and keeps the original memorial standing. Where a new stone is needed, Beechmount's older blocks permit uprights.
Clareview questions
Asked by families here
Our family stone at Beechmount is unreadable — can it be saved?
Usually, yes. Pre-war marble weathers badly in this climate and the lettering goes shallow, but the stone itself is often sound. Restoration starts at $300 and on-site engraving at $280, against $2,400 and up for a replacement upright, and it keeps the original memorial where it belongs. Send us a photo and we will tell you honestly which way to go.
Do you clean old marble differently from granite?
Yes. Marble is softer and more porous, so it takes gentler handling and never a pressure washer. We use D/2 and soft brushes on both, but on marble we work more slowly and accept a less dramatic result rather than risk the surface.
