Our people
Meet the Owner
One shop, one pair of hands on every memorial — and thirty-five years of them.
Who you will deal with
The whole shop
We have stayed small on purpose. Nothing gets handed between departments, and the answer to “who is actually making this?” is a name rather than a job title.
Owner & Third-Generation Monument Builder
Vlad
Vlad has been building monuments for more than thirty-five years. He learned the craft in his family's workshop in Knezha, Bulgaria, where the trade had already passed through two generations — working raw stone directly, carving lettering by hand, and shaping monuments by the traditional methods his father and grandfather used. After coming to Canada he added the modern North American production and engraving technology this industry runs on today. He oversees every monument and every inscription that leaves this shop, and on a weekday he is probably who you will talk to.
Inscriptions
Languages we letter in-house
We letter English, French and Cyrillic routinely. Vlad reads Cyrillic, so Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian inscriptions are set here rather than sent out. We also cut Punjabi, Hindi, Chinese, Arabic and Tagalog inscriptions regularly. For any script Vlad does not read himself, the proof is checked by someone who does before the stone is cut, and we tell you we have done it.
