Headstones in Legal
Granite headstones, grave markers and cemetery monuments for Legal families — made in our Edmonton workshop, about 40 minutes north.
Legal
Granite memorials for Legal families
We are about 40 minutes north, which puts every cemetery serving Legal inside the area we deliver and install to. Families here are usually buying for Legal's parish cemetery and the Sturgeon County grounds toward Morinville, and each of those grounds has its own rules about memorial size, thickness and whether an upright is allowed at all. Call the shop
Legal is officially bilingual and its cemetery shows it. French inscriptions and traditional Quebec-style monument shapes come up often here, and both are work we do ourselves.
Everything we make is cut and lettered on 181 Street in west Edmonton — solid granite, sandblasted by hand, never ordered in finished and resold. You are welcome to come and see the stone at full size before it goes out to Legal, and a good number of Legal families do exactly that. Ask for a quote
If you do not yet know what your section allows, that is the normal starting point and not a problem. Tell us the cemetery and the plot number and we will find out, in writing, before you make a single decision about granite or wording. There is no charge for that and no obligation attached to it. What we make
Our memorials in Legal
All five are made in the same Edmonton shop, and we deliver and install throughout Legal.
Why us
Why Legal families work with us
We know the Legal cemeteries
We have set memorials at Legal's parish cemetery and the Sturgeon County grounds toward Morinville and we know what each one accepts. Before we quote you anything we confirm your section's size, thickness and finish rules in writing with the cemetery.
Clear, itemised pricing
The memorial price covers the granite, the engraving and two designs, with any amount of front lettering in any language. Delivery and installation to Legal are quoted separately and stated up front, alongside the cemetery's own permit fee — nothing appears at the end that was not on the quote.
A proof before anything is cut
You see a scaled drawing of the finished memorial and check every name, date and word on it. Proofs are free, we redraw as many times as needed, and nothing goes to the saw until you approve it.
The cemetery paperwork is ours
Permit applications, size approvals and foundation scheduling are handled by us. You should not have to learn how a cemetery permit works while you are grieving.
Locally
What Legal families usually choose
Legal's parish cemetery carries a strong Quebec influence and the memorial shapes show it — more crosses, more arched and gothic tops, more French than almost anywhere else we work. We cut those shapes in the shop rather than ordering in a stock profile, which is the difference between a monument that suits the ground it stands in and one that does not.
Legal questions
Asked by families here
Do you make traditional Quebec-style monument shapes?
Yes. Arched, gothic and cross-topped profiles are cut here rather than ordered in as a stock shape, so we can match the proportions of what is already standing in the cemetery. Send us a photo of a monument you like the look of and we will draw something that sits with it.
Can the inscription be entirely in French?
Of course, and a good number in Legal are. We set the accents correctly and have the proof read by a French speaker before it goes to the saw.
