Granite memorials for Devon families
We are about 35 minutes south-west along the river, which puts every cemetery serving Devon inside the area we deliver and install to. Families here are usually buying for Devon Cemetery and the Leduc County grounds at Calmar and Thorsby, and each of those grounds has its own rules about memorial size, thickness and whether an upright is allowed at all. Call the shop
Devon is small enough that the cemetery office is not staffed daily, which slows permits. We build that into the timeline so nobody is left wondering why nothing is happening.
Everything we make is cut and lettered on 181 Street in west Edmonton — solid granite, sandblasted by hand, never ordered in finished and resold. You are welcome to come and see the stone at full size before it goes out to Devon, and a good number of Devon families do exactly that. Ask for a quote
If you do not yet know what your section allows, that is the normal starting point and not a problem. Tell us the cemetery and the plot number and we will find out, in writing, before you make a single decision about granite or wording. There is no charge for that and no obligation attached to it. What we make
Our memorials in Devon
All five are made in the same Edmonton shop, and we deliver and install throughout Devon.
Why us
Why Devon families work with us
We know the Devon cemeteries
We have set memorials at Devon Cemetery and the Leduc County grounds at Calmar and Thorsby and we know what each one accepts. Before we quote you anything we confirm your section's size, thickness and finish rules in writing with the cemetery.
Clear, itemised pricing
The memorial price covers the granite, the engraving and two designs, with any amount of front lettering in any language. Delivery and installation to Devon are quoted separately and stated up front, alongside the cemetery's own permit fee — nothing appears at the end that was not on the quote.
A proof before anything is cut
You see a scaled drawing of the finished memorial and check every name, date and word on it. Proofs are free, we redraw as many times as needed, and nothing goes to the saw until you approve it.
The cemetery paperwork is ours
Permit applications, size approvals and foundation scheduling are handled by us. You should not have to learn how a cemetery permit works while you are grieving.
Locally
What Devon families usually choose
Devon families mostly order flat granite markers and modest uprights, and the memorial itself is rarely the complicated part. The timeline is. Devon Cemetery's office is not staffed daily, so permits move on the cemetery's schedule rather than ours. We tell families that at the quoting stage so nobody spends six weeks wondering whether something has gone wrong.
Devon questions
Asked by families here
Why do Devon permits take longer than Edmonton ones?
Devon Cemetery is administered by a small municipal office that is not staffed every day, so a permit that clears in two days in the city can take a week or two here. Nothing has gone wrong when that happens. We submit early and keep you posted rather than leaving you to wonder.
Do you also cover Calmar and Thorsby from Devon?
Yes, all three are in the area we deliver and install to and often in the same run. If your family has plots at more than one of them — which is common out that way — we can set both on one trip.
